Three versions of the same image. Note the file sizes below.

image-optimisation-comparison

A. Original: 240Kb

B. Optimised: 23Kb

C. Ruined: 4Kb

As you can see in this simple demo, example “B” is 1/10 the file-size of the original and still quite acceptable, while  “C” is over-optimised, loses it’s detail and is surrounded by ugly artifacts.

Image optimisation

Need your images fixed professionally?

Fast-loading websites get you in Google’s good books. Not only that, but a vast percentage of people click away and look elsewhere if your page has even the slightest latency — usually caused by images that are too “heavy” in file size,

Image optimisation balances visual quality and file size, using image software tools to reach a happy medium between large, wasteful and slow-loading images, and overly compressed low-quality images. The results improve the performance of your website .

Images will have the smallest possible file size while maintaining visual quality.

Webpage images need to be the appropriate:

  • format
  • dimensions
  • resolution
  • quality

Optimising all these attributes will yield the smallest possible file size, while ensuring that the resulting image is appropriate to the overall page design, resulting in improved visitor satisfaction and monetary conversions.
