Who am I?

G’day, I’m Michael. I trained at the University of the Sunshine Coast, then later moved to Melbourne and I’m currently travelling Australia with a mobile office.

I cut my teeth working as a typesetter and designer producing a small newspaper. In 2006 I started Visual Distraction, which was successful for 10 years. In 2015 it was renamed Card Lab.

Card Lab is shiny and new and easier to say, and focuses closely on the more popular products. Being a small business, it allows me the flexibility to work personally with clients, to personally ensure projects are completed to their satisfaction. 

If I need to spend extra time to help someone with a design project, I am usually able to do that. 

WEB DESIGN

I’ve built many websites and I’ve spent a lot of time learning and experimenting – writing, optimising and SEO, and tweaking the designs.

I began with plain old HTML and then saw the advantages of database-driven content management systems, learnt Joomla, and finally met my perfect match, WordPress. I know my way around WordPress well now and recently built my first ecommerce site.
